VEG OUT 2023 Vendor Application

When: June 4, 2023 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Downtown Troy (on the streets surrounding Monument Square)

What: A food festival full of delicious vegan food

The details:

Capital Region Vegan Network (CRVN) is the area’s largest and longest-running vegan organization.  We are excited to expand our participation opportunities to more businesses for VEG OUT this year!

Food and restaurant vendors are invited to participate and showcase their skills with vegan food!  And *NEW THIS YEAR* CRVN will accept apparel, body products, jewelry, and other sustainable, vegan-friendly vendors for VEG OUT. 

VEG OUT Requirements:

• All vendors must obtain the proper permit(s) and provide the proper paperwork in order to participate on the day of the event. Submit this application to CRVN today and then please get started with your permit paperwork:
  • If you are preparing, processing, or cooking food on site you will need to submit an application for a temporary permit from Rensselaer County Department of Health ($50). If you believe you already have a mobile permit from DOH please contact them at 518-270-2717, or email JDeLorenzo@rensco.com to confirm.  Please complete this as soon as possible. Vendors that do not require a DOH permit include vendors who are only selling alcohol or pre-packaged goods such as pre-bottled drinks or baked goods.
  • ALL vendors are required to provide CRVN with their DOH permit (if applicable), Certificate of Insurance (with the City of Troy named as an additional insured), and proof of Workers Compensation or proof of exemption by Thursday, May 12. Your participation in the event will not be confirmed until all paperwork is received. 
• Vendors provide their own tables, chairs, tents, etc.
• If you are a food business, provide at least one menu option of appetizer-sized portions of vegan food priced at $5 or less.
• VEG OUT is a VEGAN Food Festival. (This means that all food does NOT include: dairy, animal flesh, poultry, seafood, broth made from animal flesh, animal fat, gelatin, eggs, milk, cheese, butter, whey, casein, honey, and insect derivatives.)
• Zero Waste Policy: Vendors should utilize compostable material whenever possible for food packaging and attendee use during the festival including, but not limited to, food containers, plates, utensils, cups, etc.  Styrofoam containers are now banned from use by New York State law. Reference this helpful guide created by Zero Waste Capital District for packaging options. Vendors utilizing fully compostable or reusable items for the event will be featured in VEG OUT Zero Waste social media promotion.
